TEEN DRIVER’S EDUCATION

TEEN DRIVER’S EDUCATION

The Department of Public safety requires teens to complete 30 hours of classroom education and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction to obtain their Minnesota driver’s license. This course meets the requirements for both. Instruction is provided by licensed instructors from Today’s Driving School. Here is a quick overview of the program.

Complete 30 hours of Classroom Education

Upon registering for class, you will receive a welcome email containing additional information for you and PDF files of the classroom materials. Please print these materials, so your student has them available in class. If you do not have access to a printer, please let Today’s Driving School know by replying to the email.

Your teen must attend all 30-hours of classroom instruction. Make up sessions are available for students who must miss any days of class. Please keep your student home if they are ill.

Once your student has completed the classroom instruction, a certificate of completion (blue card) will be issued. You must present the blue card to the MN Department of Public Safety Examiner when taking the written knowledge test.

Complete Behind-the-Wheel Instruction

After your teen has received their learner’s permit, they must complete 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction with an instructor. Once your teen has completed all six hours, they will receive a certificate of completion (white card). Today’s Driving School provides home pick-up and drop-off for behind-the-wheel instruction.
