Elementary School

Welcome to the 2024-25 School Year!

I am excited to join the BOLD community as the PK-6 Principal. I am passionate about fostering an environment where every child feels valued and inspired. My primary goal is to ensure every student and staff member feels safe, supported, and excited to be in school every day! Relationships and connections matter to me. Please reach out to me at any time! I look forward to meeting you as we begin this journey together.

Always,

Kristine Flohrs Krafka, PK-6 Principal

Early Childhood Screening

We call it “Preschool Screening” but it is not connected to registering for preschool.

Early Childhood Screening is required by state law before Kindergarten entry, but best done around age 3 ½!

The screening’s purpose is to identify health, developmental and/or other factors that may interfere with a child’s learning, growth and development.

“School Readiness” means children are ready for Kindergarten.

To be successful in Kindergarten, kids need to:

  • Learn how to behave in a school setting

  • Be able to follow a routine (like listening to a story at circle time)

  • Become more independent

  • Learn about getting along with school mates

  • Develop relationships with teachers and other adults

  • Participate in activities to develop language, pre-math, and pre-reading skills

  • Use art, dramatic play, and music to express creativity

  • Develop fine and large motor skills

  • To follow 2-3 step directions
