Mental Health

Tom Kros BOLD Social WorkerHello, my name is Tom Kroes.

The best thing about my job is working with the kids and helping them to deal with every day problems, which also helps them be able to succeed more in school and in the world outside of school.

I grew up in Prinsburg and attended Central MN Christian School. I have two children, one is in kindergarten and the other is three years old. I graduated from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa.

I work with kids in grades k-12 on various issues that affect our kids. Some of the things that I do include counseling on various mental health issues, such as depression, self esteem, bullying, etc. I also am the mental health resource to staff and parents on any topic.

Back in high school I was bullied alot. I thought that I would become a school counselor or social worker to help kids with that issue and the many other issues they face in life. It was difficult dealing with it myself, but I was able to learn to cope and now help kids with issues they are facing.

My goal is to be a positive male role model for all kids to the BOLD school district, so that I am able to effectively help or assist our students.
